Most experts believe Psalms 42 & 43 were originally one. This message assumes this. The song is one which opens & closes with hungering after God, but is by no means written from an easy place. Its words teach us much about the life of faith & devotion towards God. They express a desperate desire for God in the midst of struggling through sorrow, mockery, depression, trail, oppression, hurt & turmoil. The writer also feels forgotten & rejected by God. Yet none of these inward & outward struggles are given the last word. Faith & truth keep fighting back & a chorus of hope resounds above everything. None of the negative things rob him of his hunger for more of God. Series: The Great Pursuit ![]()
